Covid-19 Policy

Important Notice: 

In order for us to carry out our professional duty, and to mitigate the risks, it is with regret that our usual Colour Sale, Senior, student, New Customer & Referral discount shall be exempt until further notice.  

I would also like to note that we are unable to accommodate colour services without a scheduled after service i.e. Blow-dry OR Cut & Finish.

Beauty Therapy offers shall resume as usual. 

A deposit shall be required to secure all appointments, payment shall be taken over the telephone at time of booking.

To minimize contact between people i.e. staff & customers,we shall modify The Salon’s operations as follows;

  1. Staff shall be split in to 2 teams (Team A & Team B) neither team shall work together and a deep clean shall be carried out before the changeover
  2. Virtual consultations can be offered to you to minimize your time spent in The Salon
  3. We may request a virtual consultation to ensure appointment times are allocated correctly
  4. Occupy every other work station only
  5. The middle backwash chair shall be out of use to maintain safe distancing
  6. Adopt a block booking scheme, meaning, we shall book your technical and styling services & block the appointment available in between, to reduce the amount of people in the salon at any one time
  7. Stagger staff shift times to organise the people flow in the salon and prevent queue & waiting times
  8. Extended opening times
  9. Your service shall be carried out by one person throughout i.e. your stylist shall wash your hair, rebook your next apt, take your bill etc
  10. Reception shall have clear markers on the floor to space customers 2M apart, please ensure on arrival you stand on an available marker, and if there is not one available, we kindly request you wait outside of the door
  11. Reception shall be unmanned, please leave a voicemail for a member of the team to return your call to deal with your enquiry or booking
  12. Email enquiries are preferred to info@thesalon-kent.co.uk
  13. Online bookings are preferred via our App ‘My local salon’ or website thesalon-kent.co.uk
  14. We shall adopt a new greeting method, and avoid our usual hand shake, hug or kisses
  15. We shall be mindful of our body position and try to adjust our position to help ensure space/distance where possible

As our guest we kindly request the following;
  1. Attend your appointment alone to reduce the amount of people in the salon at any one time
  2. Sanitize your hands on arrival, located at reception
  3. Due to the fact we cannot fully respect the social distancing rules, please bring a face-mask along to your appointment, preferably one with ear loops to ensure your comfort and allow us easy access to your hair with minimal interruption
  4.  Please stand on a clearly marked waiting space until a member of the team shows you to a station
  5. We kindly request you do not bring a coat or additional belongings where possible and if needed please bring a plastic bag to keep your belongings in
  6. Card payments ONLY
  7. To ensure safety, if possible, please settle you bill via Apple pay, meaning you shall not need to touch the card reader to make payment
  8. Please discard of your own rubbish
  9. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone infected, please call to rearrange your appointment for after the recommended 14-day isolation period
  10. If you have visited us within the last 14 days and suddenly show symptoms of Covid-19, please call to let us know as soon as possible
  11. If a member of the team, or, a customer that was in The Salon the same time as you, happens to show symptoms of Covid-19 within 14-days of your appointment, you shall be informed immediately
  12. If you are considered vulnerable, please let us know so we can allocate you the first hour of a new shift time, meaning you will be first in The Salon after a deep clean

To accelerate safety & hygiene Measures we shall;
  1. Sanitize our hands on your arrival
  2. Wear a facemask
  3. Wear gloves where possible
  4. Wear disposable aprons (a new one worn for every customer)
  5. Wash and sanitize our hands when necessary throughout the duration of your visit
  6. Provide you with a disposable gown (Please do not wear anything of value to your appointment, as a precaution, of the effectivity of these disposable items)
  7. Use disposable towels
  8. Provide you with drinks in disposable cups (although we request you to bring your own where possible)
  9. Stylists shall use their designated section only, which shall be maintained, cleaned & sanitized by them only
  10. Staff will use their own equipment & shall sanitize after every use
  11. Magazines shall be removed (feel free to bring your own)
  12. Sanitize the touch pad on the card machine after every use
  13. Door handles, toilets and any touchpads shall be maintained & sanitized by all staff during your colour development
  14. Bins shall be located around the salon, for staff & customer use

Beauty Therapy - Although most of our treatment resources are already disposable, please see a detailed outline below to confirm our hygiene standards;
  1. Disposable Facial sponges
  2. Disposable headbands
  3. Disposable Hypo Allergenic face rest covers (for massage treatments)
  4. Disposable nail files
  5. Disposable foot files
  6. Disposable waxing spatulas
  7. Lash treatments – performed with one time use disposable equipment
  8. A plastic covering shall replace the usual material cover on the beauty bed to enable easy sanitation after every use
  9. No towels will be used, disposable couch roll will be used to replace
